Carpinteria, CA – 1 Dead In Fatal Collision on Carpinteria Ave Near Bailard Ave
Carpinteria, CA (April 21, 2019) – Early Saturday morning, a head-on car accident resulted in the death of one person and five others were injured.
Sources claim that the incident involved two separate vehicles. The crash took place at 6:30 a.m. and occurred on Carpinteria Ave near the intersection with Bailard Ave.
Officials report that the collision involved a white Nissan NV200 that was traveling west on Carpinteria Ave. For an unknown reason, the vehicle crossed over the dividing line of the roadway, colliding with a Toyota Sienna which was traveling eastward.
The Toyota contained a five-person family. They were all injured in this accident and were immediately transported to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital for medical treatment of their injuries.
The passenger who was riding inside the Nissan was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics. The driver required hospitalization for treatment of moderate injuries.
The identities of the victims have not yet been made public by officials. The case is ongoing.
