Castaic, CA- DUI Crash with Semi on the I-5 Causes Major Injuries in 3 Children

Castaic, CA (April 16, 2019)- Multiple children were injured in a DUI crash on the 5 Freeway southbound near Templin Highway.

The crash happened on Friday at around 7 pm when a 2001 Toyota hit a big rig truck. The force of the collision caused the Toyota to overturn.

Passengers in the Toyota included children from age two to 10 years old. These children, as well as the other occupants in the Toyota, sustained major injuries.  Three of the children in the vehicle were seriously injured in this accident and were transported to local trauma centers for treatment.

The driver of the Toyota, 38-year-old Sylmar resident Diego Valencia was arrested on charges of felony DUI causing injury. His bail is set at $50,000.

Our thoughts are with the innocent children who were injured in this accident that was completely preventable.  We hope and pray that they will be able to recover from these serious injuries and get back to their normal lives soon.
