Chico, CA- Fatal Multi-Car Accident on Marigold and East Avenues
Chico, CA (April 15, 2019)- An accident on Marigold Avenue and East Avenue caused one death and two hospitalizations at approximately 5:50 pm on Saturday afternoon.
According to the Chico Police Department, an eastbound driver on East Avenue crashed into a second vehicle carrying two people on Marigold Avenue. A third vehicle carrying three people was also involved in the collision.
The driver of the first vehicle reportedly was driving at a high rate of speed.
Emergency medical personnel arrived at the scene and transported three victims to the hospital. One of the victims died after arriving.
An investigation into the crash required road closure of approximately 5 and a half hours on East Avenue from Cactus to Ceanothus.
