Chico, CA- Pedestrian Losses Her Life in Train Accident on W. 8th Ave
Chico, CA (November 4, 2018) – A woman was struck and killed by a train Saturday evening in Chico. The deadly accident transpired at approximately 5:30 pm on Saturday, November 3rd at West Eighth Avenue.
According to the initial report, a woman was attempting to cross train tracks in the area of West Eighth Avenue when she was struck by a train. Police and firefighters were immediately dispatched to the scene and discovered the victim’s body lying under a billboard. Paramedics attempted to revive the pedestrian but she sadly died of her severe injuries.
The road was shut down at Greenwich Avenue and Nord Avenue until authorities concluded their investigation. The name of the deceased woman has not been released pending identification and notification of family. No additional information was immediately released.
This fatal train accident remains under investigation.
