Chula Vista, CA – One Dead & Four Hurt In Crash With Border Patrol Near Otay Mesa Crossing

Chula Vista, CA (May 12, 2019) – A single-vehicle accident involving a rollover occurred on Thursday, that took the life at least one person and injured four others.

California Highway Patrol responded to the scene of this fatal accident. According to CHP officers, the crash occurred near the Otay Mesa border crossing.

The chase started on Thursday after agents saw several people they suspected of entering the country illegally get into an SUV near the Otay Mesa border crossing. When agents tried to pull over the SUV, it took off.

A few minutes later, the driver lost control in Chula Vista and the vehicle rolled over, ejecting at least one person who died at the scene.

The driver and three other passengers were seriously injured.
