Clairemont, CA – Motorcyclist Sustains Major Injuries in Accident at Clairemont Mesa Boulevard and Luna Avenue

Clairemont, CA – (November 25, 2018) – A motorcycle rider sustained serious injuries in a traffic accident Saturday night in Clairemont. The major collision took place at approximately 7:18 pm on November 14th at the intersection of Clairemont Mesa Boulevard and Luna Avenue.

According to the authorities, a Ford Mustang and a 66-year-old motorcyclist were traveling eastbound on Luna Avenue when both stopped at a red light. The Mustang driver made a left turn without yielding and pulled out in front of the rider who proceeded straight through the intersection, causing the collision. Paramedics transported the rider to a local hospital with a serious leg injury. According to first responders, the man lost a lot of blood but was in stable condition. The Mustang driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation. The CHP closed the off-ramp from state Route 52 to Regents Road. Traffic leading toward the site of the accident was blocked by the officers. Officers confirmed alcohol or drugs were not factors in the accident.
