Cloverdale, CA – Child and Grandparent Injured in Car Crash at Highway 101

Cloverdale, CA (March 5, 2019) – In Cloverdale, a 12-year-old boy and his grandmother received injuries in a car crash that took place on Highway 101 Sunday morning.

The accident took place around 8:25 a.m. when the vehicle they were riding in was involved in an accident and ended up crashing down an embankment. When police arrived at the scene, they found that the vehicle had gone down a 30-foot embankment with three victims still inside.

The two victims who received injuries were identified as a 12-year-old boy and 67-year-old Rebecca Whiteman, the boy’s grandmother. Whiteman crawled up a hill and called for help from motorists passing by.

The child was sitting in the back with his grandmother at the time of the accident. Police determined that the driver lost control of his SUV after being involved in an accident, causing it to plunge down an embankment.

Police continue to investigate the circumstances leading up to the accident at this time.
