Coachella, CA. Injuries Follow DUI Crash at Grapefruit Boulevard and Avenue 54
Coachella, CA. (July 3, 2018) – One man has been arrested for driving under the influence after a car crash that took place Monday night at the intersection of Grapefruit Boulevard and Avenue 54. The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department reported that 40-year-old Alejandro Ruvalcaba of Coachella was arrested for allegedly causing the crash that occurred at approximately 6:28 p.m. and resulted in injuries.
The Coachella Police Department initially responded to the crash by sending deputies to the intersection where it occurred. According to reports, a brown Nissan Frontier was heading north on Grapefruit Boulevard when it veered into the southbound lane. The Frontier then reportedly crashed into a white Honda sedan. The person driving the Honda was injured during the collision and paramedics had to promptly rush the victim to a local hospital to be treated for moderate injuries.
Ruvalcaba was immediately arrested for DUI after the accident. The suspect had to be taken to a local hospital first for medical clearance but was swiftly booked into Riverside County Jail afterward.
