Concord, CA- Deadly Crash on Hwy 4 at Port Chicago Hwy
Concord, CA (June 10, 2019)- Concord was the site of a deadly accident on Highway 4 east of Port Chicago Highway on Sunday.
The California Highway Patrol reported that the accident happened at approximately 8:27 pm near the Concord Naval Weapons Station train tracks. The CHP report stated that a blue M3 BMW hit a silver Toyota Camry in the westbound lanes of Highway 4. The impact of the crash caused the BMW to swerve off the road and into an embankment beneath the highway.
The BMW’s driver, a 35-year-old Oakland resident, was pronounced dead at the crash site. His identification is unknown at this time pending family notification.
The Toyota’s driver sustained no injuries and remained at the scene of the crash.
Investigators have not stated whether alcohol or other substances were involved in the cause of the crash
