Bicycle Accidents in California
Studies indicate that bicyclist accidents are caused by the same reasons that cause motorcycle accidents, which is negligent driving. The difference is bicyclists have no motor and cannot be heard from inside of a vehicle, which means when drivers fail to check their blind spots and rearview mirrors, a bicycle accident is more likely to occur. Even though bicyclists aren’t considered vehicles, drivers are still supposed to show them the same respect as they would another motorist.
The police are currently investigating this accident to determine what led up to the crash and who will be held fully liable. Once they’ve collected enough information and make their decision, the injured victim may be able to file a personal injury lawsuit with the help of a California personal injury attorney.
