Costa Mesa, CA – Motorcyclist Injured in Hit-and-Run Crash on Highway 55

Costa Mesa, CA (July 15, 2018) – A motorcyclist reportedly suffered serious injuries following a hit-and-run crash that occurred on Saturday night in Costa Mesa, according to the California Highway Patrol. The collision that took place in the northbound lanes of Highway 55, a little south of Highway 73 apparently occurred at approximately 9:30 p.m.

The report that was released stated the accident involved the motorcyclist and two other vehicles. One of the drivers of one of the other vehicles struck the motorcycle rider and reportedly fled the scene. Emergency responders arrived on the scene in order to assist the motorcyclist who sustained major injuries as a result of the accident. A ground ambulance was immediately dispatched to the scene in order to promptly transport the victim to a nearby hospital.

There was no more information regarding the events that transpired and led to this collision. Moreover, no details have emerged concerning the role that the second vehicle played in the crash, and neither the name nor specific condition of the victim has been provided at this time.  Authorities are currently searching for the suspected hit-and-run driver as part of the preliminary investigation.
