Cottonwood, CA- Bowman Rd Near Sebastian Ct. Site of Crash that Injures Five

Cottonwood, CA (April 8, 2019)- A head-on crash on Bowman Road near Sebastian Court seriously injured five on Sunday morning at around 10:55 am.

Two children between the ages of four and six were among those injured when a 2006 Chevrolet Malibu driven by 33-year-old Kelli Bjorlin, of Happy Valley, swerved into opposing traffic when attempting to turn from eastbound Bowman Road near Sebastian Court. 50-year-old Redding man Victor Heath pressed his brakes in an attempt to prevent crashing his 2008 Toyota Corolla, but this attempt was unsuccessful, causing a westbound lane crash.

The Malibu hit a power pole after running off the road. The Corolla ended up spinning to face eastbound in the westbound lane.

Everyone involved in the crash sustained moderate to major injuries, including a 42-year-old passenger in the Corolla. Four of the people involved in the crash sustained moderate injuries, while the 4-year-old in the Malibu sustained major injuries.

Emergency medical personnel arrived at the scene and took all injured parties to hospitals.

The California Highway Patrol has begun an investigation into the crash. They reported that they do not believe drugs or alcohol to have been involved in the crash.
