Crescent City, CA – Single Vehicle Crash Kills One & Injures Three on US-101
Crescent City, CA (May 19, 2019) – A single-vehicle accident occurred on about 3 p.m. Friday, that took the life of one person and injured three others.
California Highway Patrol responded to the scene of this fatal accident. According to CHP officers, the crash occurred May 17 on U.S. 101 south of Crescent City.
Four people were traveling in a southbound car when for unknown causes, it crossed the oncoming lane, hit a tree, and then moved 30 to 40 feet down the embankment, and overturned.
Emergency responders were called to the scene to render aid the injured parties. One patient was airlifted to St. Joseph Hospital in Eureka, and two others were transported via ambulance to Sutter Coast Hospital. Sadly, the fourth person, Wau-Kela Dowd, 18, did not survive his injuries from this accident.
Roadways were closed pending investigations, but are now reopened.
