Daly City, CA – One Dead Following Construction Accident at 1 Martin Street
Daly City, CA (July 29, 2018) – A reliable news source in Daly City reported a construction accident that left one worker dead at 1 Martin Street on Friday morning. The news article stated that several workers were working on the property, a new housing development, and they were grading a 12-foot deep trench to install a 24-inch concrete drainpipe. The Trench reportedly collapsed and fell on the victim for reasons that have not been confirmed.
Paramedics were called to the scene of the accident and arrived at about 11:20 a.m. The responders did everything they could to assist the victim, but he had already passed away due to the injuries he sustained in the accident.
According to officials, two separate urban search and rescue crews were also called to the scene to extricate the man from the trench due to the instability of the surrounding ground. Reports state that both crews worked hard for around 12 hours to extricate the victim.
No information has currently been provided in regards to any other workers who may have been involved in the accident, and the name of the victim who tragically perished has not been released to notify next of kin. The California Division of Occupational Safety and Health are actively examining all facets of this accident to establish liability.
