Dana Point, CA – Victim Identified as Whitney Daniels in Fatal Pedestrian Crash

Dana Point, California (November 5, 2018) – A woman was struck and killed by an oncoming vehicle Saturday evening in Dana Point. The crash occurred at approximately 5:20 pm on November 3rd on Pacific Coast Highway near Amber Lantern.

According to the Orange County Sheriff’s Department, 35-year-old Whitney Daniels, of San Juan, was attempting to cross Pacific Coast Highway when she was struck by an oncoming vehicle heading northbound. Paramedics were dispatched to the scene and attempted to stabilize Daniels before transporting her to a local hospital, but despite rescue efforts, she succumbed to her injuries and later died. The 70-year-old male driver of the vehicle remained at the scene after the accident and complied with authorities. Deputies believe that alcohol and drugs were unlikely factors in the crash. Police are still trying to determine what exactly transpired prior to the fatal accident.
