Delhi, CA- Unidentified Pedestrian Killed in Crash on Highway 99 Near South Ave

Delhi, CA (April 17, 2019)- The California Highway Patrol reported that an unidentified female pedestrian was killed in a hit-and-run crash south of South Avenue on Highway 99. The crash took place on Saturday at around 1:06 pm.

The driver who hit the pedestrian fled the scene. The victim was found on the shoulder of Highway 99 face-down.

The coroner reported that the woman has not yet been identified. She was described as being between 20 and 40 years old. She has distinctive tattoos including a mermaid and child on her back and a pair of ballet shoes on her right ankle.

The Merced office of the California Highway Patrol has begun an investigation into the crash. Anyone with information about the crash, including details on the vehicle or motorist involved in the accident, is urged to call the CHP office at 209-356-6600 or the Merced Communications Center at 209-356-2900.
