Dixon, CA- Teenagers Electrocuted in Canal Near Dixon Avenue West
Dixon, CA (April 2, 2019)- An orchard on Dixon Avenue West near the Solano Irrigation District Canal was the scene of an electrocution on Monday that killed two teenaged boys.
California Highway Patrol officers found the unresponsive victims around 12:15 pm. They conducted CPR on the victims before transporting them to a hospital in Vacaville. The victims were pronounced dead after arriving at the hospital.
According to the Solano County Sheriff’s Office, the teenagers encountered the electricity when they attempted to rescue a dog from a drainage ditch. It appeared that one of the boys encountered an electric fence or gate while trying to free the dog from the ditch. The electrocution took place when one of the boys touched the electrified fencing.
Currently, the actual source of electricity is not known. An investigation is ongoing.
We wish comfort and strength to the families of the young people killed in this horrifying accident. Our prayers are with them at this difficult time.
CPR Training in California
CPR, or cardiopulmonary resuscitation, is used in emergencies to help people whose heart or breathing has stopped. This procedure can save lives if done correctly. The American Red Cross offers CPR and first aid classes across the state of California. The American Heart Association provides a search tool on their homepage to help you locate CPR classes in venues throughout your specific area.
CPR can make the difference in an emergency situation. Unfortunately, even the best emergency medical treatment isn’t always enough. If you’ve lost a loved one in an accident, you might consider filing a wrongful death suit.
The attorneys at the Brady Law Group have nearly thirty years of experience working with wrongful death cases. We understand the mourning experience and are compassionate to the feelings of those who’ve lost a loved one in an accident. To speak with us about your options, please call 866-478-6483.
