Dixon, CA – Woman Dead after Fatal Traffic Accident along Interstate 80 Off-Ramp near Curry and Milk Farm Roads

Dixon, CA (July 18, 2018) – Local news sources reported that a fatal traffic accident took place along the Interstate 80 off-ramp near Curry and Milk Farm Roads. The incident happened at approximately 9:50 AM in the morning on Tuesday, July 17, 2018. As of today, authorities have identified the deceased victim as 64-year old Tanya Long, a resident of Dixon. No additional information concerning the identities of the second motorist and his two passengers has been revealed at this time.

According to initial reports, Long was driving her Honda CR-V north along Highway 113 when, for indeterminate reasons, she drove into opposing traffic near the off-ramp at Interstate 80. As a result, Long lost control of the Honda, which was propelled over a dirt mound on eastbound 80. After flying across the median, Long’s vehicle crashed into an oncoming Dodge Dart and overturned. These reports also confirmed the Dodge drive continued for one mile on the westbound lanes of Highway 80 before it came to a halt.

Medical personnel affirmed Long died from her injuries at the scene.

Meanwhile, the group of people from Fair Oaks who had occupied the Dodge also sustained injuries during the collision. The 62-year old man driving the vehicle was in a more critical state. However, his passengers, a 54-year old woman and a 9-year old boy, only sustained minimal injuries. Later, the trio was transported to Kaiser Permanente Vacaville Medical Center.

At around 10:35 AM, law enforcement blocked the Milk Farm on-ramp leading to Highway 80 and allowed traffic back on the roadway at 11:55 AM.
