DUI Driver Crashes into Home Near Santa Clara and Injures 2 People
Santa Clara (June 25, 2018) – According to a local news source, two people were injured Saturday after an apparently intoxicated driver crashed into a home near Santa Clara and Willow Glen. Reports state that Cassandra Chatman was woken up by a very loud boom after a car had crashed into the side of her house. The car was a BMW convertible that happened to crash through the wall into the room directly below Chatman’s.
According to reports, the driver of the BMW appeared to be heavily intoxicated and driving at extremely high speeds before the accident. Reportedly, the driver of the BMW was going as fast as 70 or 80 mph before striking another vehicle and eventually crashing into the side of the home. The driver of the vehicle was arrested while two of the four people inside the BMW were reportedly transported to a local hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. The Red Cross is helping Chatman find a home in the meantime.
