El Cajon, CA – Truck and Bicycle Collide at the Intersection of Winter Gardens Boulevard and N 2nd Street

El Cajon, CA (July 19, 2018) – Local news sources had recently reported that an accident involving a truck and a bicycle took place at the intersection of Winter Gardens Boulevard and N 2nd Street. The incident occurred a little before 11:00 PM at night on Monday, July 16, 2018. As of today, authorities have identified the deceased bicyclist as 40-year old Jason Wilcox. No additional information about the motorist has been provided.

According to the report, Wilcox had been riding a bicycle at the intersection of Winter Boulevard and N 2nd when, without warning, a pickup truck plowed into him. As a result of the impact, Wilcox was thrown from his bike and sustained severe injuries. Authorities confirmed he had not been wearing a helmet or safety gear.

Later, rescue teams took Wilcox to Sharp Memorial Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries and later died.
