El Centro, CA – Fatal Accident Involving 54-year-old Pedestrian Takes Place On 4th Street And Desert Gardens Drive
El Centro, CA (March 3, 2019) – A traffic collision between a vehicle and a pedestrian occurred on February 28th at around 12:30 a.m., in the area of 4th Street and Desert Gardens Drive. The pedestrian was later found to be a 54-year-old transient resident of El Centro.
The pedestrian was found unconscious at the scene and had suffered head trauma after being hit by the car. Medical personnel attempted to save the man’s life but unfortunately were not able to do so and pronounced him dead.
The driver of the vehicle was Manuel Lopez, of El Centro. He was moving north on 4th Street, in the innermost lane, when this incident happened. After striking the victim, Mr. Lopez pulled over and attempted to help him. Lopez cooperated fully with authorities.
The accident remains under investigation.
