Escondido, CA – Officer Injured in Motorcycle Accident Along 15 Freeway

Escondido, CA (January 25, 2019) – Police reported that a CHP officer was injured in a serious motorcycle accident that took place along the 15 Freeway on Wednesday night. The accident allegedly occurred around 8:30 p.m. near the Via Rancho Parkway.

The officer was riding a motorcycle southbound when he found a disabled vehicle on the right shoulder near the on-ramp in the area. The officer was then struck by a 2005 Cadillac.

At the time, the motorcycle had its emergency lights on when it was struck by the other vehicle. The officer sustained a variety of injuries and was transported to the hospital for treatment.

The man driving the Cadillac did not sustain any injuries in the accident. The freeway on-ramp was closed down for some time while police investigated the accident.
