Escondido, CA – Woman Severely Injured in Head-on Collision on Valley Center Rd.

Escondido, CA (January 15, 2019) – A woman was seriously injured in a head-on collision that took place on Monday afternoon around 2:45 p.m. on Valley Center Road in San Diego County.

The accident took place in the southbound lanes of the road near Lake Wohlford Road. A man had been traveling north on the road when he suddenly lost control of his pickup truck.

From there, police said the truck jumped the median and struck a Mercedes-Benz head-on. The sedan was being driven by a woman whose name has not been released.

Responding firefighters and paramedics responded to the incident to find that the woman was pinned inside her vehicle. She was immediately taken to the hospital with severe injuries including broken bones in both her arms and legs.

Officials did not release any more information on the other driver. However, an investigation is underway at this time.
