Essex, CA – Needles Freeway and Kelbaker Rd. Scene of Four Truck Crash
Essex, CA (April 10, 2019) – According to the California Highway Patrol, a pickup and a FedEx truck crashed at approximately 4:54 am on April 10th on the Needles Freeway/Interstate 40 near Kelbaker Road. The pickup reportedly was speeding at the time of the accident.
The FedEx truck was hit by the pickup, which overturned in the number two lane of the freeway. At least one person was extricated by firefighters. At least one person involved in the accident sustained major injuries and was taken by air ambulance to the trauma unit at University Medical Center in Las Vegas.
The CHP report stated that the accident also involved two semi-trucks, but no further details were included.
The accident is under investigation.
