Pedestrian Accidents Involving Commercial Vehicles in California
Commercial vehicle drivers have a responsibility to drive cautiously and be aware of their surroundings, especially buses since they’re large vehicles that are responsible for multiple lives at a time.
Determining liability for pedestrian accidents involving buses can be complex depending on what caused the accident. There are many potentially liable parties to consider, such as the bus company, the bus maintenance company, state or local governments, affiliated tour operators, the bus driver, and the manufacturers of the bus and/or its parts.
The police are currently working to determine if the pedestrian was partially at fault or if the bus driver was fully at fault. Once they conclude their findings, it’s possible that the deceased man’s family will be able to file a wrongful death lawsuit with the help of a California wrongful death attorney.
