Fatal Accident at 28th and Diamond Streets

Lilianna Preciado Killed in Accident in Noe Valley

Noe Valley, San Francisco County (June 15, 2018) – A pedestrian tragically died after being struck by a vehicle at the meeting of 28th and Diamond Streets around 2:40 PM. Investigators have identified the victim as 34-year old city worker Liliana Preciado, who was on duty at the location of the accident.

According to investigative reports, Preciado and two other workers were standing at the meeting of 28th and Diamond Streets. At that same moment, a tow truck driver was loading a vehicle onto his truck. Without warning, the truck bed malfunctioned. The wrecked vehicle then rapidly skidded towards the three city workers. Two jumped out of the way. Preciado was struck.

Medical officials rushed Preciado to Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital. Later, he died as a result of his traumatic injuries. Seemingly unharmed, the tow truck driver followed regulations and cooperated with law enforcement.

The San Francisco Department of Public Health and the California Division of Occupational Safety are conducting an extensive analysis of all factors leading up to this violent crash, and an investigation into the crash is ongoing.
