Fatal Pedestrian Crash in Indio, CA

Pedestrian Accident at Miles Avenue and Monroe Street Kills 1

Indio, CA (June 17, 2018)  A pedestrian accident killed one individual in Indio, California late Saturday night. The accident involved one pedestrian and one car and was initially reported by the Riverside County Fire Department.

According to initial reports, the accident occurred near the intersection of Monroe Street and Miles Avenue around 9:28 p.m., and authorities were informed of the collision shortly afterward.

Multiple departments responded to the accident including Cal Fire, Riverside County Firefighters, and Indio Police. Upon arriving at the scene, first responders discovered that a pedestrian had been struck by a vehicle and severely injured as a result.

Despite the best efforts of paramedics, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene. The victim’s identity has not yet been released to the public as law enforcement officials reach out to the victim’s next of kin.

Further details regarding the vehicle which struck the pedestrian have also not yet been released, and it was unclear if the vehicle remained at the scene of the accident or fled after striking the pedestrian.
