Fatal Truck Accident Claims 2 Lives in Colton
(June 13, 2018) California Highway Patrol has reported that two people died this morning on the Interstate 10 Freeway in Colton. The collision that occurred around 6:48 a.m. at the Interstate 215 Freeway interchange involved a white work truck and a large tractor-trailer. Reportedly, the white work truck had fallen through the middle divider gap and crashed into the canal.
A tractor-trailer was also apparently involved but it is not certain if it collided with the work truck at this time. Furthermore, one of the two trucks involved had been carrying wooden logs, one of which fell off the respective truck and crashed through the windshield of another vehicle. Thankfully, the female driver of that vehicle was not injured. Nevertheless, one of the vehicles involved reportedly caught on fire which in turn started a brush fire. Both east and west lanes of the Freeway were shut down for an unspecified amount of time.
Police are currently conducting an investigation into this large and unfortunate wreck that took the lives of two people. An investigation will attempt to determine who was at fault and if either driver was operating their vehicle in a negligent manner. Regardless of the results of the investigation, we have nothing but sympathy for the loved ones of the victims who lost their lives, and we offer them our sincerest condolences during this tragic time.
Truck Accidents
Accidents involving any kind of commercial tractor-trailers or other large trucks are generally among the most severe. The size and power of large trucks typically cause tremendous injuries and fatalities. Even in cases where the victims do not feel as though they have been severely injured, it is always important to seek the evaluation of a medical professional. Although many people choose to obtain compensation for their financial losses, it is the choice of the victim to do so. Of course, in tragic accidents such as this one, there may be grounds for a wrongful death claim to be filed by the victims’ families should they wish to recover economic losses.
We here at Brady Law Group understand the incredible pain, suffering, loss, and damage caused by large commercial trucking accidents. We adamantly wish for these accidents to never happen, but we are also passionate about holding negligent drivers and/or trucking companies liable for the victims and their loved ones’ losses.
