Ferndale, CA – Bicyclist Injured in Crash with Truck on Matthole Road and Ocean Avenue
Ferndale, CA (August 9, 2018) – A bicyclist was reported to have been involved in a collision with a truck late Thursday afternoon at the intersection of Matthole Road and Ocean Avenue, according to the California Highway Patrol. The accident which occurred on Thursday, August 9th, was reported to have taken place at around 5:24 p.m. at the intersection in Ferndale.
According to officials, the male bicyclist who has not been identified at this time was riding his bicycle when he was struck by a blue truck for reasons that have not been determined. Witnesses reported to authorities that they had seen both parties involved in the crash talking to one another after the incident. Emergency crews are believed to have been called to the scene, although the condition of the bicyclist has not been made available.
The driver of the truck was unharmed in the accident. No further information has been released in regards to the events that led to the collision, and the identities of the parties involved are currently unknown. Authorities are actively pursuing a detailed investigation into the cause of this crash.
