How To Survive A Car Accident In California

A car accident is one of the most horrific and terrifying things that any person can experience. It is also truly dangerous and can easily cause a fatality. Here are some methods to avoid this terrible outcome.

Always wear your seat belt. Make sure your lap belt is positioned low on your hip bones and that the shoulder belt goes is across the center of your chest. Children should be seated in proper child seats.

Drive a safe car. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety maintains extensive crash test ratings and lists of safe vehicles.

Store objects safely so that they will not strike you if your car gets hit. Stow it in the trunk behind the seat.

Make sure safety systems on your car are in good working order. Airbags and seat-belts significantly reduce injury and death in automobile collisions.

Never lean against the dashboard. Car’s airbags inflate with force and if you are leaning against the dashboard when they inflate you will be thrown backward and injured. If the car also has side airbags don’t lean against the sides of the car.

Make sure your car’s engine, brakes, transmissions, suspension, and tires are in good shape. The safest accident is the one you don’t participate in and having your car in top running order can help you avoid this horrific pitfall.

Despite all precautions, accidents do occur. If you have been seriously injured in a crash, your next step should be to retain the services of a personal injury attorney.
