Fort Bragg Resident Arrested for DUI Head-On Collision on Highway 1
Fort Bragg, California (June 22, 2018) – Local news reported that two people sustained injuries as the result of a vehicle collision and reputed DUI that took place near Jug Handle Creek Bridge on Highway 1 at 12:15 pm, Saturday, June 16, 2018. The primary suspect has been identified as 64-year old Fort Bragg resident Richard Hull. The identities of the injured parties have not yet been disclosed to public sources, but authorities speculated the pair might be Napa residents.
According to California Highway Patrol reports, Hall was driving northbound along Highway 1 when he swerved his 2003 Saturn into oncoming traffic in the southbound lanes. Without warning, Hall’s vehicle collided head-on with a 2013 Ford carrying a 47-year old woman and a 47-year old male passenger. CHP also reported that Hall was driving the Saturn at approximately 60 mph around the time of the accident.
All three individuals suffered major injuries. After the crash, the Ford driver and her passenger were transported to Mendocino Coast Hospital in Fort Bragg, while Hall was rushed to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital for treatment.
Police have confirmed Hall was drinking prior to the accident. As per the report, authorities have arrested him on the grounds of drunk driving and causing a head-on collision resulting in major injuries. Further details concerning the case will arise as investigations continue.
We extend our thoughts and prayers to the Ford driver and her passenger and to the family members of all injured parties during this difficult time.

Police reports hint that Hall will be held accountable for causing the head-on collision and for drunk driving. The severity of the charges will depend on a variety of factors including blood-alcohol content, the nature of the resulting accident, and the extent of injuries sustained by the victims. Also, authorities will look for prior convictions in Hall’s records. DUI is a serious crime and should not be taken lightly.
By law, the victims of the crash will have the right to pursue a personal injury lawsuit against the guilty party. Seeking legal assistance can result in compensation for medical bills, painful injuries, or preservation of self-worth.
