Four People Injured After Multi-Vehicle Collision with Big Rig on Interstate 15

Temecula, California (June 21, 2018) – California Highway Patrol reported that four people sustained injuries from a multi-vehicle collision that took place on the northbound Interstate 15 Freeway, near State Route 79 Temecula Freeway in Temecula. The identities of the drivers have not yet been disclosed to the public, pending further investigation.

CHP revealed that the accident took place when the driver of a big rig truck swerved across all lanes of traffic and crashed over the side of the freeway and into a creek bed. Without warning, five smaller vehicles including a white Kia Optima and pickup truck crashed into the semi-truck, resulting in the multi-vehicle crash. Afterward, police issued a SigAlert and dispatched a group of five tow trucks to extract the vehicles from the freeway. The extent of injuries sustained by the drivers has not been revealed.
