French Gulch, CA – 1 Injured in Head-On Collision on Hwy 299

French Gulch, CA (May 30, 2019) On the morning of May 30^th, a major head-on crash happened on Highway 299, also known as Eureka Way. A passenger vehicle and a big rig truck collided head-on at approximately 4:59 a.m., which caused the big rig to go over the embankment and landed about 100 feet away from the collision.

When the paramedics arrived, they found the truck driver trapped inside of his vehicle and immediately extricated him. After they successfully removed him, they airlifted him to the closest hospital for treatment of moderate injuries.

Crews shut down the highway as they worked to clear the scene and investigate how the two vehicles collided head-on.
