Fresno, CA. 2 People Arrested for DUI Following Fatal Crash Near Marks and Shaw Avenues

Fresno, CA. (July 3, 2018) – A crash that resulted in the death of one woman early Saturday morning was allegedly caused by a DUI driver who has now been arrested. 27-year-old Karla Estrada of Fresno has recently been charged with driving under the influence following an incident near Marks and Shaw Avenues where she reportedly struck and killed 47-year-old Michelle Sanabria, according to a local news source.

Sanabria was apparently hit by a vehicle being driven by Estrada just after she got out of a Chevrolet Tahoe SUV. Sanabria had reportedly exited the vehicle during an argument with its driver, 48-year-old Marcello Alvarez Diaz of Fresno. Police on the scene had reason to suspect that Diaz had also been operating his vehicle while under the influence and proceeded to place him under arrest as well. According to the report, two other people were also in the vehicle driven by Diaz. Reportedly, the four occupants of the SUV had just left a bar in the area.
