Authorities investigating this accident will most likely be focusing on whether or not any negligent behavior led to the crash. It is most probable that they will be looking at various factors including excessive speed, distracted driving, and intoxication in an effort to establish fault. Should the investigation show that one of the drivers caused the accident due to their negligence behind the wheel, then a serious personal injury lawsuit may likely follow. However, it is always ultimately up to the victim themselves to decide if they would like to file a claim for financial compensation.
