Fresno, CA – Child Injured in Crash at Champlain Dr and Fort Washington Rd

Fresno, CA (June 7, 2019) – Authorities have confirmed that a 10-year-old boy was injured in a pedestrian hit-and-run Thursday morning, June 6th. The accident took place at the intersection of East Champlain Dr. and Fort and Washington Rd.

The boy was walking to Valley Oak Elementary School when he was struck by the car. The reason the car hit the child is unknown.

Sources claim the child was using a crosswalk at the time of the collision.

The driver was making a right-hand turn after rolling through a stop sign, hitting the child and knocking him down the road.

Paramedics at the scene delivered aid to the victim, who was later taken to Children’s Hospital in Madera.

The driver did not remain at the scene after the accident. The car involved was described as a red sports car, such as a Toyota Celica.
