Fresno, CA – Debbie Criado Killed in Fatal Car Accident on Princeton Avenue

Fresno, CA (March 1, 2019) – Police responded to a fatal car accident on Wednesday, February 27, when 56-year-old Debbie Criado was killed on Princeton Avenue.

At the time, Criado had been traveling with her daughter, brother, and 6-year-old grandson when they were hit by a vehicle being chased by a police car. Criado was transported to the hospital but later died due to the severe trauma she sustained.

All passengers in the vehicle suffered serious injuries due to the accident as well. Their names and conditions have not been released at this time.

The chase started when police officers in Fresno noticed somebody in a getaway car from a robbery that happened ten days before. The female suspect of the vehicle refused to pull over and took off at a high rate of speed, leading to a high-speed chase. When the driver reached an intersection, she kept driving through a red light, causing her to slam into Criado’s vehicle.

The female driver is now facing multiple charges. Police continue their investigation at this time.
