Fresno, CA – Motorcyclist Seriously Injured in Crash with DUI Driver on Herndon and Hayes Avenues

Fresno, CA (August 10, 2018) – A 47-year-old man was seriously injured after a vehicle struck his motorcycle at the intersection of Herndon Avenue and Hayes Avenue on Friday evening in Fresno, according to a local and dependable news source. The injurious crash was reported to have taken place at around 7:35 p.m.

The news article reported that the victim was struck by a Honda Fit while he was riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle northbound on Hayes Avenue. Medical personnel was quick to arrive on the scene to provide aid to the victim whose motorcycle was destroyed due to the impact of the crash. The victim was rushed to a local hospital with severe although non-life-threatening injuries. It was reported that that the victim suffered several broken bones and a separated shoulder.

The driver of the Honda Fit was immediately identified as Guadalupe Verdugo, 33, who ran through the red light at the intersection and triggered the collision. Verdugo sustained no injuries during the accident and was suspected to be intoxicated. He was booked into Fresno County Jail on suspicion of felony DUI.

The name and current condition of the victim are not known at this time. Authorities are currently going over all the details pertaining to the events that led to this accident.
