Fresno, CA – Pedestrian Dies after Fatal Accident along Highway 41 near Dinuba Avenue

Fresno, CA (July 16, 2018) – Local news sources reported that a fatal accident involving a pedestrian took place along Highway 41 in the vicinity of Dinuba Avenue. The incident occurred at some time in the evening on Sunday, July 15, 2018. As of today, authorities have identified the deceased victim as 27-year old Dana Colson and the motorist involved as 55-year old Ray Gomez Jr.

Based on the report, Gomez had been driving an unidentified vehicle along Highway 41 when, for indeterminate reasons, he plowed into Colson. After the impact, the woman could not get to her feet in time, and several more oncoming vehicles slammed into her near Dinuba. First responders arrived at the scene and declared that Colson had succumbed to severe trauma and died.

Simultaneously, Gomez and the drivers of the other vehicles remained at the crash site.

Authorities have confirmed that this area along 41 and Dinuba does not have street lights. As of now, the investigation is ongoing.
