Fresno, CA- Pedestrian in Wheelchair Killed in Crash at E. Shields Ave and N. Cedar Ave
Fresno, CA (April 2, 2019)- A pedestrian in a wheelchair was killed in a crash at the intersection of East Shields and North Cedar Avenue on the morning of April 1.
The man in the wheelchair died at the scene of the crash. Witnesses said that the pedestrian was rolling in and out of the street with his wheelchair, missing collisions with cars until he was eventually hit.
Though the victim’s name was not reported, police noted that they had spoken with him previously about rolling into the street in this manner.
The driver who hit the pedestrian remained at the site of the crash and cooperated with police.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
