Fresno, California – Pedestrian Dies after Train Accident at Tulare and H Streets

Fresno, California (July 3, 2018) – The California Highway Patrol reported that a fatal pedestrian accident involving a train took place at the intersection of Tulare and H Street in the Fresno area. The incident happened at approximately 8:00 PM at night on Tuesday, July 3, 2018. Authorities have not revealed any detailed information concerning the identities of the deceased male pedestrian or the crew of the train involved in the accident at this time.

According to CHP reports, the man was crossing railroad tracks at Tulare and H, in the vicinity of Chukchansi Park, as a train traveled northbound up the tracks. Quickly, the train engineer signaled to the pedestrian, but the man was not paying attention. Immediately, the train struck the unidentified male, who sustained intense trauma from the accident. Officials declared the man dead at the site.

Officials confirmed this intersection is a common sleeping ground for homeless people. Beds are often stacked in all directions along the tracks.
