Grass Valley, CA – Man Arrested for Manslaughter in Thursday Night Crash That Killed Passenger
Grass Valley, CA (March 23, 2019) – A high-speed collision involving a solo vehicle occurred on March 21st, just after 9:00 p.m., which took the life on the passenger in the vehicle.
The driver, Joaquin Lopez Pinto, 28 of Auburn, was arrested for vehicular manslaughter stated the California Highway Patrol.
Pinto was traveling at extremely high speeds on Highway 49 when his 2006 Honda Civic plowed into an embankment. The speed in mph has not yet been determined.
The Honda was overturned about 40 feet down the embankment. The front passenger was not wearing a seat belt and passed due to the accident. Pinto received minor injuries. He was transported to Sutter Roseville Medical Center.
Pinto is unlicensed and was found to have been driving in a grossly negligent manner prior to the collision.
The victim’s identity has not yet been released.
