Hayward, CA- Major Injuries in Motorcycle Crash on I-880 Near Tennyson Rd.

Hayward, CA (April 22, 2019 )- A motorcycle and a motor vehicle collided in an accident on the 880 Freeway.  The accident occurred in the southbound lanes of I-880 just south of Tennyson Road and left the rider with major injuries on Monday.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened at approximately 5:52 am when the motorcycle and a vehicle collided for reasons unknown. The police, fire and emergency services were called to the scene to render aid and transport the injured victims to a local hospital.

The current condition of the injured victims is not known at this time.

Following the crash, lanes 1 through 3 were closed. Tow trucks were called to the site of the crash to remove the damaged vehicles and clear the area.

The CHP has opened an investigation into the accident.
