Healdsburg, CA – Two Motorcyclist Injured after Collision with Sedan on Northbound Highway 101 near Healdsburg Avenue Off-Ramp

Healdsburg, CA (September 3, 2018) – The California Highway Patrol reported that two motorcyclists sustained injuries as the result of a collision with a sedan along the northbound lanes of Highway 101, in the vicinity of the Healdsburg Avenue off-ramp. Officers initially logged the traffic accident at approximately 10:10 AM on Sunday, September 2, 2018. At this time, no detailed information concerning the identities of the two riders and the motorist involved in the crash has been revealed.

Based on the CHP report, the two people had been riding a Yamaha Sports motorcycle along 101 when, for indeterminate reasons, a gray Kia sedan collided with the bike. The force of the impact sent the Kia careening into the center median of the highway.

Sometime later, emergency personnel arrived at the crash site and provided medical aid to the rider, one of whom suffered severe injuries during the collision. At some point, the victims were sent to a nearby hospital for more in-depth treatment and evaluation.

The current conditions of both people were not revealed.

Later, authorities dispatched a SigAlert and blocked Lane 1 along 101 in the vicinity of Healdsburg Avenue for at least one hour.

As of now, investigators are still looking into a possible cause for the collision.
