Hollister, CA- Elderly Man Dead After Collision on Fairview Rd

Hollister, CA (May 15, 2019)- The San Benito County Sheriff’s Office reported a deadly crash on Fairview Road on Sunday at approximately 3:18 pm.

The police report stated that a 42-year-old Hollister resident was driving southbound on the highway in a 2000 For F250 pickup truck collided with a Hyundai driven by a 91-year-old man. The northbound Hyundai reportedly crossed over the yellow lines an crashed into the pickup truck.

Paramedics and emergency personnel subsequently extricated Hyundai’s driver, who was trapped in his vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the crash site.

Two teenagers in the Ford pickup received minor injuries.

Police stated that it is unclear at this time whether intoxication played a role in the crash.

The accident is under investigation.
