Huntington Beach, CA – Dion Van Diermen Killed in Pedestrian Accident on Atlanta Ave And Schooner Ln
Huntington Beach, CA (April 21, 2019) – A vehicle crash results in the death of a pedestrian at the intersection of Atlanta Ave and Schooner Ln. The accident occurred late Thursday evening, April 18.
Officials have revealed the identity of the victim to be 32-year-old Dion Van Diermen, Huntington Beach Resident.
The reason for the crash remains unknown. Authorities claim that Diermen was hit by 1998 Toyota 4Runner on Atlanta Ave westbound, near Schooner Ln.
The driver was traveling west on the roadway when he collided with Diermen. The vehicle involved received notable damages to the hood and bumper after the accident. It was reported to officials around 11:55 p.m.
Paramedics found the victim lying in the roadway when they arrived. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The investigation into the case is still underway, with more information likely to be released as it continues.
