Huntington Park, CA – High-Speed Chase Ends in Head-On Crash

Huntington Park, CA (March 30, 2019) – A high-speed chase in South Los Angeles ended up in a head-on collision.

Police pursued a suspect who allegedly may have been wanted for a traffic violation. The chase took place on surface streets across Los Angeles County, ended up in a head-on collision in Huntington Park.

The incident began around 9:30 p.m. Friday in the Compton area. It then moved into South Los Angeles and into South Gate.

The suspect ran a red light, then entered a shopping center off Tweedy Boulevard. After leaving the shopping center and realizing he was still being pursued by CHP, the suspect sped up to try to evade arrest, driving at speeds as high as 75 mph.

The suspect then lost control of his silver Lincoln Navigator. He was located on South Alameda Street and Randolph Avenue in Huntington Park. He fishtailed and then struck another automobile head-on, causing a chain-reaction accident.

The driver remained inside, injured by the crash. An ambulance came on the scene to help the injured in the crash. There were a total of three victims, with minor to moderate injuries. They were taken to a local hospital for further evaluation.

The suspect was taken into custody and the investigation is ongoing.

We wish a speedy and pain-free recovery to the individuals injured in the crash.

What Happens If You’re Injured In A Police Chase?

Police pursuits are the most injurious for those who are not distinctly involved. If you are hurt in a collision related to a high-speed pursuit you have options for compensation.

When you are injured during a high-speed chase your injuries are caused by the suspect police are chasing.
