Indian Wells, CA. Man Arrested for DUI After Crash on Highway 111
Indian Wells, CA. (June 29, 2018) – 37-year-old Gustavo Aguirre of La Quinta was reportedly arrested last night on DUI charges after causing a motor vehicle accident on Highway 111. The Riverside County Sherriff’s Department reported that the crash took place at approximately 6:23 p.m. Thursday night in the eastbound lane of Highway 111 in Indian Wells.
According to reports, Aguirre was driving his vehicle east on the highway when he apparently struck another vehicle that was heading in the same direction. Aguirre’s vehicle reportedly went off the highway before crashing into a wall on the side of the road. Aguirre suffered minor injuries during the accident, although it is currently unknown if anyone else was hurt.
Upon arriving on the scene, police immediately suspected Aguirre of being intoxicated. After being treated for minor injuries at a nearby hospital, Aguirre was promptly arrested. Police continued on to book the suspect into the Riverside County Jail in Indio for driving under the influence. The Indian Wells Police Department is currently conducting a detailed investigation into the accident.
