Indio, CA – Fatal Pedestrian Accident on Interstate 10

Indio, CA – (November 30, 2018) – A pedestrian was struck and killed early Friday morning in a traffic accident near Indio. The deadly accident took place around 2:30 am on Interstate 10.

According to authorities, a passing vehicle traveling eastbound on Interstate 10 crashed into a pedestrian walking along the freeway. Sometime later, emergency crews arrived on the scene and found the victim lying in the roadway unresponsive. Paramedics attempted to revive the victim but despite rescue efforts, the pedestrian died of the injuries sustained in the accident. Police have not released the victim’s identity pending identification and notification of family. Authorities shut down one eastbound lane on the freeway to make way for an on-scene investigation.
