Injuries Sustained in San Diego Hit-and-Run Accident
A hit-and-run collision in San Diego caused injuries on the evening of June 10. The accident occurred in City Heights at the Interstate 15 Freeway and University Avenue.
According to initial reports, an Audi stuck an SUV around 6:30 p.m. The SUV had been traveling north on the interstate at the time of the collision and was subsequently pushed off the road. The vehicle then rolled down a hill and came to a stop on the southbound lanes of the 15 Freeway.
The driver of the Audi proceeded to exit the vehicle and flee the scene of the accident. Police are still searching for the driver. However, the name or identifying characteristics of the individual has not been released to the public.
The driver of the SUV sustained injuries as a result of the wreck, though the severity of these injuries, as well as the victim’s name, have not been released.
The California Highway Patrol directed traffic around the scene of the accident and traffic on both sides of the freeway was delayed for about an hour as investigators examined the area. The case is ongoing as of posting.
Car & Auto Accidents
Injuries sustained due to the negligence of another can be particularly jarring experiences, especially when the victim is in no way at fault. These experiences are made even more difficult to comprehend when the other party does not follow through on their obligation to remain at the scene. A driver who flees the scene is ignoring their responsibility to others involved in the accident and can be subject to felony charges as a result of their actions. Regardless of their justification for leaving the site of the crash, the driver of the Audi involved in this accident had a responsibility to the victim in the SUV and will face charges as a result of not fulfilling them.
Our hearts are with the victim involved in this accident, and we wish them a quick recovery. Though the investigation into the crash is still ongoing, the victim likely has a personal injury case against the driver of the Audi and can seek financial damages for the injuries sustained. After being injured in an accident, your focus should be on your recovery rather than the nuances of your legal case against those at fault.
